1 Phase 1: Pre-Arrival (4–6 Weeks Before Start)

Send offer letter and collect signed contract — create a card with deadline tracking
Initiate background check and credential verification (degrees, certifications)
Set up university email, LMS access, library access, and building badge
Assign an office or workspace — coordinate with facilities via a connector to their task card

Review accessibility requirements and accommodations process with disability services
Schedule a classroom visit during another faculty member's lecture (optional but recommended)
Confirm textbook orders with the bookstore — deadline is usually 6 weeks before classes start

4 Phase 4: Research & Service Setup (Weeks 2–4)

Meet with the Office of Sponsored Research for grant submission procedures
Set up research lab access, equipment, and safety training (if applicable)
Review IRB (Institutional Review Board) process for human subjects research
Identify potential collaborators within and outside the department
Discuss conference travel policies and funding with the department chair

5 Phase 5: Integration Review (30, 60, 90 Days)

Schedule 30-day check-in with department chair: teaching comfort, resource gaps, questions
Collect early student feedback (informal, not formal evaluations) at 30 days
60-day HR check-in: benefits questions, payroll issues, overall experience
90-day formal review with department chair: performance, integration, development plan
